SuperSpell Support
A guide to using SuperSpell in Microsoft Word.
Quick Start
- Turn the main toggle to Enabled so SuperSpell can work.
- Type normally. SuperSpell watches for the Enter key, when a new paragraph is created it fixes spelling mistakes and adds corrections.
- To format your text without SuperSpell making corrections, toggle Disabled when you finish drafting.
How It Works
SuperSpell monitors when you press Enter. When a new paragraph is detected, it automatically applies spelling corrections.
Corrections appear as native Word tracked changes, so you can review, accept, or reject them.
Word Integration
One of SuperSpell’s most powerful features is full integration with Microsoft Word review markup. All SuperSpell suggestions are native Word corrections, which means all the review and tracking tools you already use in Word also apply to SuperSpell corrections.
Markup Panel Options
Find these in the Review toolbar.
- All Markup, all suggestions are shown.
- No Markup, only the corrected text is shown. Your document stays clean while you type, mistakes are corrected automatically.
- Original, only the original text you initially typed is shown.
Advanced Options
Click the expand icon in the lower right corner of the Markup panel to open Advanced options. Here you can personalize how insertions and deletions are displayed.
Note: this is a global Word setting, it applies to all of your documents. You can choose different colors for insertions and deletions, or hide them altogether.
Font and Formatting
SuperSpell provides a seamless first pass while you type. It acts as your initial input method, leaving you with a document that is free of spelling mistakes.
- SuperSpell does not persist any existing formatting in the corrected text.
- To avoid losing formatting, draft first with SuperSpell enabled, then apply formatting once the text has been corrected.
- When you finish typing, toggle SuperSpell to Disabled to format and edit without further corrections. You are always in control, and Undo will always work if you want to revert changes.
Managing Changes
You stay in control at all times. SuperSpell never changes text without showing you exactly what changed.
- All native Word tracking options apply to SuperSpell corrections.
- Accept a change to commit it to your document.
- Under the Tracking menu, you can Accept All Changes in the entire document.
- You can also select a range and click Accept to confirm only the changes in that selection.
Important: SuperSpell only checks paragraphs that have no pending corrections. Accept all changes in a paragraph before sending it again.
Daily Limit
The free plan lets you experience the benefits of seamless spelling corrections. There is a daily limit on the free plan, and once it is reached, no more corrections can be made for the day.
Tips
- If you do not see corrections, confirm that the main toggle is Enabled.
- Use No Markup when you want a clean view of the final text while drafting.
- Switch to Original to quickly compare your first draft to the corrected version.
